Q How does he make you feel secure

The way he quietly puts his hand onto mine, its so reassuring

Let my approach capture what really matters to you…

Why me…. Yes I can state my impressive experience of been a wedding photographer, full time, for over 15 years. I can tell you that I have photographed 600 weddings around Newbury, Berkshire, across the UK and even overseas. But to me there is something more important.

That’s my approach. It’s what make me, me. My approach covers two parts. Me as a person, at your wedding & secondly my approach that enables me to capture the most incredible, powerful, moving & meaning wedding photographs

At your wedding, I’m like another guest. Smart, personable, friendly & genuinely, I want to enjoy your day too. This relaxed, calm & friendly manner helps put everyone at ease meaning I can capture natural moments brilliantly & guests enjoy me being there.

But my approach starts before the wedding. In all my years of experience I have learnt so much. No weddings are the same, more importantly no people are the same. So I invest time, for every couple, in the lead up to the wedding, to get to know them, so I can learn what to see.

Sounds simple doesn’t it.

Your wedding is different to every other wedding, you are both also unique. So to capture the story of your day, perfectly, for you, I love to get to know you.

To do this, I need to learn all about you, I need to understand you both. What you mean to each other? What is it about the other you adore? How do they make you feel loved? I get to know my couple & their families, often even the parents, sometimes even siblings or a best friend. By meeting & talking to these wonderful people, I learn what people really mean to each other, what they love & what I should look for to capture them perfectly

A bride, a sister, a daughter

Of course I want to get to know a bride, for example. But the bride is likely a daughter. So by giving time to speak to parents I learn about the girl through her dad’s eyes. What does he see when he looks into her eyes, what does he feel about walking down the aisle, what does he love about her - how do I capture his daughter perfectly for him?

This not only involves the parents (which they love), but it means I can now see what her dad, sister, best friend & her husband sees - so I capture what is very real, meaningful & that matters most

“I capture real feelings, connections & what really matters to people - because I have learnt what to see”

Every wedding is unique

Sounds cliché, but it is true. So for me to photograph your wedding & capture everything perfectly for you & your families - I have to know what I am looking for.

Maybe I’m looking for that special smile he described, or that way she puts her hand on the back of his neck. It might be the way grandma squeezes her hand, the way mum laughs or the bond between the groomsmen.

All of these create an emotional response when they mean something, so I know I am looking for something special, in a sense creating images that come to life & mean so so much.

Dance like no one is watching…

My approach allows my couples & all of their guests to relax, enjoy the day & just be themselves - as that is what I am looking to capture.

So please, hold her like you’ve never held her before.

Look into each others eyes, say I love you without uttering a word

And please, dance like no one is watching

Do this knowing that I am there, I know, I can see & I will capture

ooh, let’s not forget the details

We will undoubtedly have spoken about the hours & hours of researching, choosing or even hand crafting all the details that add that real personal feel to the day.

Again, I will know what I am looking for, I’ll know what adds to the story & I know these are important.

So whether something major like the cake, the flowers or the room decor, small little details on the table or a subtle photo of a relative. I know their importance & meaning - they will be captured, preserved forever

Most of all, the fun & laughter

Weddings are full of amazing emotions, fun & laughter.

Maybe its the children playing, the groomsmen banter, being with your best mates, the drinking all day, the dodgy story coming out in the speeches or its the DJ getting everyone up & giving it all on the dance floor. Weddings are epic, brimming with fun & laughter

Weddings are a great occasion, they have it all. But capturing the warmth, fun eruptions of laughter & hilarity seems to put a smile on everybody’s faces.

You just cant & certainly don’t need to fake it

To capture what means the most to you, first I allow time to learn
